Why teams partner with Glowtoure

Competition tanning, with the program in mind.

  • Made for the stage.

Every athlete's color is hand-mixed to each athlete's undertone and the depth the team wants, so it reads deep and natural under arena lights and in competition photography — never orange, never streaky.

  • One cohesive team.

Tanning the roster together, from the same mix and the same artists, gives the whole team one consistent stage color.

  • A give-back built in.

$5 from every tan goes to the program's official fund, under a simple written agreement and with a statement for every payment.

  • Nothing for coaches to manage.

Each athlete — or each parent, for athletes under 18 — books and pays individually by secure link. Krystal handles scheduling, consent forms and prep instructions directly.

  • Two artists, fully insured.

Every team day is led by Krystal Brook, Master Certified Spray Tan Artist, with Glowtoure's co-owner as the second artist, so even large rosters move quickly.

Two packages, one cohesive stage color

Rapid for most teams. Stage for the brightest lights. Both come to your facility, both need a roster of 10, and both send $5 from every tan back to your program.

A partnership that works for everyone

Your program, your athletes and their families all come out ahead.

Between competitions — $45 per appointment at our private studio

Team Glow athletes who want to keep their color all season can book at Glowtoure’s private studio in Plumas Lake for $45 per appointment. Studio appointments are booked individually — by a parent or guardian for athletes under 18 — and the $5 give-back doesn’t apply.

Team Glow Rapid

$65 team rate · $95 individual

One appointment per athlete, 2–3 days before the event. A pH-balancing primer, then two coats of an ultra-dark, high-DHA rapid solution applied back to back, build deep stage color in a single session, with a quick rinse the same day. Larger rosters are scheduled across two days — 3 days and 2 days before the event — so up to 120 athletes can be tanned.

Why teams choose it

  • Two layered coats in one appointment, and one block of setup time at your facility.
  • Athletes rinse after 2–4 hours instead of sleeping in guide color.
  • Color is rinsed before uniforms and costumes go on, which keeps transfer to a minimum.
  • Deep, polished stage color at the more accessible price.

Team Glow Stage

$135 team rate · $175 individual

Our signature for national-level arenas: a premium, stage-specific solution built in two layers — a base coat two days before the event and a top coat the day before — for depth that holds under bright stage lights.

Why teams choose it

  • Layered for depth and definition under high-intensity lighting.
  • Holds up better to sweat, friction from fitted uniforms and full-out routines.
  • Finished with a sweat-lock sealant and finishing powder to help keep color off uniforms, including white and metallic fabrics.

Morning-of touch-ups and backstage support — $25 per athlete · optional add-on

A Glowtoure artist meets the team at the event the morning of and stays for backstage support, refreshing any spots rubbed at straps, hands and edges before the team performs. Add it when booking Stage. Every venue sets its own rules, so your team confirms with the event that on-site touch-ups and backstage access for our artists are allowed, and sends us the venue’s rules and expectations before the event.

What to expect on tanning day

One room, two artists, every athlete on time.

  • The setup.

A private team room at your school or studio. Glowtoure brings professional pop-up tents and high-volume ventilation fans to keep the air clean and the room tidy.

  • The schedule.

Two artists work side by side in six-hour blocks, and every athlete has an assigned time.

  • The application.

Rapid takes about 10–12 minutes per athlete for prep spray, two coats and setting powder. Each Stage appointment takes about 8 minutes. Every athlete is tanned in a private tent by Krystal or Glowtoure's co-owner, and any athlete may request Krystal.

  • The feel.

The mist feels cool. Your artist guides each athlete through a few simple poses for even, full-body coverage.

  • The guide color.

A cosmetic bronzer in the solution shows exactly where color lands, so everyone looks very dark right away. With Rapid, it rinses away to reveal the true tan underneath. With Stage, it builds layer by layer for maximum depth.

Which package fits

Rapid suits most teams. Stage is for the athletes and events where depth under bright lights matters most.

Choose Team Glow Stage when…

  • The team competes at national-level events in large arenas with intense lighting
  • Athletes perform as soloists, duos or small groups, seen up close
  • Fair athletes want real depth — two layers build it more naturally than one very strong solution
  • The category expects deep stage color (pageant, ballroom, physique)
  • Athletes can attend two appointments, 2 days and 1 day before the event

Choose Team Glow Rapid when…

  • The event is regional, a showcase, a recital or a game day
  • The division is mini or youth — the extra depth won't read on stage
  • Uniforms are white, very light or heavily embellished, and the team prefers color rinsed before they go on
  • The roster is large or families can't commit to two appointments
  • Families are already covering uniforms, travel and fees, and need the accessible option

Each team books one package. Athletes who want Stage on their own can book it at the individual rate.

Athletes under 18

No form, no tan. Every time.

Athletes 18 and older book, consent and pay for themselves. For any athlete under 18, these rules apply to every appointment, with no exceptions:

  • Consent first. A parent or legal guardian signs the Glowtoure consent form before the first appointment — no form, no tan. For Team Glow Stage, one form covers both days and any touch-ups.

  • Parents book and pay. The parent or guardian receives the booking and payment link, never the athlete.

  • A trusted adult is present. A parent, guardian or coach is in the room for every appointment, including both Stage days and any morning-of touch-ups.

  • The athlete's comfort decides. Athletes wear their own swimsuit, sports bra and shorts, or whatever they are comfortable in, and any athlete or parent may request Krystal as the artist.

  • No photos or video of any athlete under 18 without written permission from a parent or guardian.

  • Questions go to Krystal. Parents can text 916-597-4866 with anything, before or after the appointment.

  • Communication runs through adults. Glowtoure contacts parents and guardians through the coach or booster club, never athletes under 18 directly.

The consent form is the same one every Glowtoure client signs — it asks about allergies, skin conditions and recent treatments before the first appointment. See the client form.

The give-back

$5 from every completed tan goes to your program’s official fund, paid within 7 business days after the competition weekend.

  • Where it goes. The booster club, the school's student activities account, or the university program's official fund through its foundation — never a personal account.

  • For the whole team. Funds go to the program's general fund and are never credited toward an individual athlete's dues or fees.

  • In writing first. A one-page give-back agreement, signed by two officers of the program or booster club, is in place before the program is promoted to families.

  • Fully accounted for. Every payment comes with a written statement: session dates, number of tans, total and payment method.

  • Your name, your approval. Glowtoure uses the school's or program's name or logo only with written approval.

  • Always optional. Tans are never a condition of making the team, competing or performing, and no athlete is ever required to tan.

  • What it is. Families are paying for a service, not making a donation, so the purchase isn't tax-deductible for them.

Program details

The fine print, in plain words.

  • Roster minimum. At least 10 athletes registered and paid 48 hours before the first appointment. Below 10, each athlete books at the individual rate ($95 Rapid, $175 Stage) and the team give-back doesn't apply.

  • Payment. Each athlete — or a parent or guardian, for athletes under 18 — pays online by secure link before the appointment. Cash and checks aren't accepted on-site.

  • The room. A private, clean, climate-controlled room with accessible outlets. Glowtoure brings the tents, lighting and ventilation.

  • Timing and capacity. Two artists work side by side in six-hour blocks, and each athlete gets an assigned time. Rapid runs about 10–12 minutes per athlete — up to 60 athletes a day, or 120 across two days (3 and 2 days before the event), with one appointment per athlete. Stage runs about 8 minutes per athlete each day, with each athlete keeping the same time slot on both days, for up to 72 athletes.

  • Missed times. A missed time slot moves to the end of the line, or rebooks as an individual studio appointment at the individual rate.

  • Bare skin. Results depend on prep. Glowtoure isn't responsible for patchy or uneven color from lotion, deodorant, perfume or makeup worn to the appointment.

  • Uniforms and costumes. The sealant and setting powder reduce transfer but can't guarantee against it. Teams decide when uniforms and costumes go on.

  • Give-back payout. Within 7 business days after the competition weekend, with a written statement.

  • Between competitions. Team Glow athletes can keep their color all season at our private studio in Plumas Lake — $45 per appointment, booked individually. The $5 give-back applies to team days only.

Frequently asked questions

Team Glow, answered.

Will the tan look orange?

No. Every athlete's color is custom-mixed, and our professional competition solutions are made for the stage, with deep violet and mahogany undertones that counter warmth — a rich, natural brown under arena lights.

Will it stain uniforms?

Guide color can transfer before the first rinse, so wear loose, dark clothing to the appointment. With Rapid, the guide color is rinsed off before uniforms go on. With Stage, the sweat-lock sealant and finishing powder help keep color on the skin and off white and metallic fabrics. They reduce transfer rather than remove the risk entirely, so dress with care. Guide color usually washes out in a regular laundry cycle; always follow the uniform's care label.

Why book as a team instead of individually?

Booking together lets us bring the studio to you with travel included, everyone gets the team rate ($65 or $135, compared with $95 or $175 individually), $5 from every tan goes to your program, and the whole roster shares one cohesive stage color. Each athlete still chooses whether to tan — it's never required.

What about sensitive skin or allergies?

Our professional solutions are paraben-free and made with high-quality, skin-nourishing ingredients. If an athlete has sensitive skin or allergies, let us know at least 48 hours ahead (a parent or guardian, for athletes under 18) and we'll do a quick patch test first.

What if an athlete misses their time?

Appointments run back to back in assigned time slots around your practice schedule, so a late arrival moves to the end of the line. Anyone who misses the team session entirely can book an individual appointment at the individual rate.

What are morning-of touch-ups?

An optional Stage add-on at $25 per athlete. A Glowtoure artist meets the team at the event the morning of and stays for backstage support, refreshing any spots rubbed at straps, hands and edges. Your team confirms with the venue that this is allowed and shares the venue's rules with us ahead of time.

How does travel work for events farther away?

For Rapid, travel is included within 50 miles of Sacramento, then $75 for each additional 50 miles. For Stage, travel is included within 25 miles of Sacramento or our Plumas Lake studio, whichever is closer. Beyond that, we stay at a hotel nearby so we're there for both days and any morning-of touch-ups — the room at cost plus $75 per artist per day, shared across the roster. If an event needs a flight, we'll send a simple quote first; nothing is booked until you approve it.

Appendix · prep & aftercare

What athletes and parents need to know.

Sensitive skin or allergies? Let us know at least 48 hours ahead (a parent or guardian, for athletes under 18) and we’ll do a quick patch test first. General guidance is on the prep & aftercare page; the competition-specific version is below.

Your Rapid appointment

One appointment, 2–3 days before the event. A pH-balancing primer, then two coats of an ultra-dark, high-DHA rapid solution applied back to back, build deep stage color in a single session — with a quick rinse the same day.

24–48 hours out

Before the appointment

  • Exfoliate thoroughly with an oil-free scrub or exfoliating mitt, focusing on elbows, knees, ankles and heels.
  • Finish all waxing at least 48 hours before, and shave 12–24 hours before so pores have time to close.

Day of

Day of the appointment

  • Arrive with completely clean, bare skin — no lotion, deodorant, makeup, oil or perfume. Each can act as a barrier and leave color patchy or green.
  • Wear loose, dark clothing — long sweatpants, an oversized T-shirt — and slide sandals. Skip tight sports bras, socks and waistbands.
  • During the session, wear whatever you're comfortable in: a swimsuit, a sports bra and shorts, or similar.

2–4 hours after

The first rinse

  • At your designated rinse time, rinse with lukewarm water only for about 60 seconds — no soap, body wash or shampoo.
  • Brown water is expected: that's the cosmetic guide color rinsing away. If you look lighter right after, don't worry — the true stage tan keeps deepening over the next 24 hours.
  • Pat dry gently, and wait 24 hours before applying lotion.

Good to know

The guide color

  • A cosmetic bronzer in the solution shows exactly where color lands, so everyone looks very dark right away. With Rapid, it rinses away to reveal the true tan underneath.
  • Guide color can transfer before the first rinse, so wear loose, dark clothing to the appointment. Guide color usually washes out in a regular laundry cycle; always follow the uniform's care label.
Your Stage appointments

Two appointments on back-to-back days — a base coat two days before the event and a top coat the day before — built in two layers for depth that holds under bright stage lights.

Two days before the event

Before day 1 — base coat

  • Follow the same exfoliation and hair-removal timing as Team Glow Rapid: exfoliate 24–48 hours out with an oil-free scrub or mitt; finish waxing at least 48 hours before and shave 12–24 hours before.
  • Arrive with completely clean, bare skin in loose, dark clothing.

That night

After day 1

  • Don't shower — sleep in the base coat so it can develop.
  • Wear dark, loose long sleeves and sweatpants to bed to protect your sheets.

The day before the event

Before day 2 — top coat

  • Return for your second appointment without showering or applying any products over the base coat.

Top coat, seal and powder

After day 2

  • Your artist applies a sweat-lock sealant and anti-friction finishing powder right after spraying.
  • Sleep in dark, loose clothing again, and stay dry — no showering or swimming — until the competition is completely over.
  • Before you perform, keep rubbing from tight straps, gear and uniforms to a minimum.

After the competition

Wash and fade

  • Shower with lukewarm water and a gentle, oil-free body wash, then pat dry.
  • Moisturize daily with an oil-free lotion for a smooth, even fade.

In your corner

Let's look at your competition calendar together.

A ten-minute call is all it takes. Text your program, your next event and a rough roster size, and I'll come back with the package that fits and the give-back agreement to sign.
